What is Paediatric Dentistry?

Paediatric Dentistry is the branch of dentistry that is dedicated to preventing and treating oral health problems of children from infancy through adolescence.

Why is it important to take care of baby teeth (milk teeth)?

Baby teeth begin appearing in a child’s mouth by the age of 6 months. By 6-7 years of age, children start to lose their first set of teeth, which are replaced by permanent teeth eventually.
Without proper dental care, there is more probability of dental decay (cavities) and other oral diseases that can lead to pain and other long term complications such as such as compromised diet, damage to permanent teeth, malaligned/crowded teeth etc which can advisedly affect the overall growth and development of a child.
